Let's start at the beginning
Our Basic accommodation packages include the following:
Tents – Dome, Colonial, and Cottage styles | Steel frame beds | Mattresses (with or without beds) | Pillows, duvets, and linen | Bedside tables | Chairs | Lighting – electric or LED | Electricity – for mobile charging.
** Optional extras include electric blankets, fans, bed throws, and cushions, mosquito nets, and luggage racks, customised tent numbers, draping and more
Our Dome tents feature 2 styles – Sand Domes and Safari Domes both of which are 3x3m and which can comfortably accommodate 2 guests in twin beds. Sand Domes have a front door with a rear window, and the Safari Domes have a front door, side windows, and a rear window.
Private ablution units can include bucket showers, chemical toilets, towels, amenities (shower gel and shampoo), and dressing rooms with luggage racks. Communal sharing shower blocks and mobile trailer toilets are an additional option for guest comfort.
Our classic Colonial tents are 3x4m and include a large awning. They can also comfortably accommodate 2 guests in twin beds and have a large front door and a rear door with meshing for ventilation and comfort.
The Colonial tent is semi-en-suite with easy and convenient access to the ablution unit from the rear of the tent. This includes a bucket shower, chemical toilet, towels, amenities (shower gel and shampoo). Communal sharing shower blocks and mobile trailer toilets are an additional option for guest comfort.
Decadently large our en-suite Cottage Tents are 4x6m and feature a large veranda for seating. The tent can comfortably accommodate 2 guests in twin beds or in a queen-size bed. The tent has a front door, double-side windows, and a door leading to the ablution unit.
Our elegant Cottage tents are fully en-suite and include bucket showers, chemical toilets, bath sheets, amenities (shower gel and shampoo), decking, lighting, and storage space.
*** There are SO many variables so a discussion is very important to discuss your requirements first and determine an exact cost.
What follows is a very basic cost estimate used purely as a guideline – be sure to request a quote to finalise your costs:
Weekend Rates, per tent – Dome Tent rates are from R1 500*, Colonial Tent rates are from R2 500*, Cottage Tent rates are from R3 500*. Rates include building your Wedding Village, dressing them, and then breaking them down again. Rates exclude ablutions and transport. Subject to a minimum of 20 tents for a minimum 2-night stay.
*Chiefs Tented Camps is a mobile “hotel for hire” operating nationwide throughout Southern Africa and our warehouse is located in Johannesburg.
Basic rates exclude additional insurances or security that may apply.
Catering is excluded.
Entrance fees to National Parks are excluded.
Our package prices are based on a weekend stay flat rate and NOT per night. Check-in is from 4pm/ Check out before 10am.
Please note prices vary depending on the wedding, location, client brief, inclusions, and season. All tents are installed prior to guest arrival and allocated accordingly.
Rates exclude ablutions and transport.
Subject to a minimum 2-night stay.
A minimum of 20 tents applies – if less required the rates will be adjusted accordingly (500 guests can be accommodated in various styles of tents).
